In the design of ultrasonic power source, the matching design of generator and transducer is very important, which largely determines whether the ultrasonic equipment can work normally and efficiently. The matching of ultrasonic generator and transducer includes two aspects: impedance matching and tuning matching. Impedance matching makes the impedance of the transducer transform into the best load, which is called impedance transformation. The tuning matching makes the voltage and current at both ends of the transducer in phase, so as to maximize the efficiency. At the same time, the series resonance can improve the voltage at both ends of the transducer, which is conducive to the excitation of the piezoelectric transducer.
In recent years, the application of ultrasonic in industry has been emerging, such as ultrasonic flaw detection, ultrasonic cleaning, and so on. With the popularity of ultrasonic research, how to effectively generate ultrasonic power source that meets the requirements has become urgent. Its performance characteristics directly affect the ultrasonic research work. The above research requires that ultrasound has the characteristics of high resolution, high stability, high power, and wide range of adjustable frequencies. Therefore, this paper proposes a scheme based on field programmable logic gate array (FPGA) DDS technology to generate ultrasonic power source, which has been applied to practical acoustic research.
Power ultrasonic equipment uses ultrasonic energy to change some states of materials, which requires considerable or relatively large power. The ultrasonic power source (or generator) provides continuous electrical energy to the ultrasonic transducer, and its performance characteristics directly affect the research work of various power ultrasound. In recent years, the research on power ultrasound is very popular in our country, especially the sonochemistry and the biological effects of ultrasound, which are the focus of acoustic research. The above research requires that ultrasound has the characteristics of high resolution, high stability, high power, and adjustable frequency in a large range. Therefore, an ultrasonic power source based on DDS technology has been developed and applied to practical acoustic research.
